The article aims to analyze the dynamics of interaction between the agents and instances that compose the specialized artistic segments from two poles: the alliances and the conflicts. It took as an empirical reality a segment of authorial rock of the Brazilian city of Teresina. The data collection was done through the application of 32 semi-structured interviews to a set of agents who act or acted in the artistic-musical segment during the time period delimited for the analysis. This social microcosm constitutes an ambivalent arrangement, where relative cohesion, based on a set of associative actions, exists simultaneously to a series of disputes that reveal the search for hegemony.
