^lpt^aNesse texto discutimos questões de interface entre a política pública e a atenção à saúde para população em situação de rua, a partir de uma pesquisa realizada com essa população, que tratava de avaliar a sua relação com o controle da tuberculose. A pesquisa utilizou a contribuição etnográfica juntamente com a coleta de outros dados de caráter epidemiológico. Através de fragmentos de narrativas etnográficas, discute-se a questão das “margens sociais” a partir de uma dualidade entre a ação técnica sanitária e os mecanismos de evitação social. Tratar do tema da tuberculose significa evocar aspectos da sociabilidade desse grupo social, de sua relação com as instituições, e permite explicitar mais um aspecto do sofrimento social.^len^aIn this text we discuss issues of the interface between public policy and health care provided to the homeless population, from a survey of this population intended to assess its relationship with tuberculosis control. The contribution of ethnographic research has been used along with other data collection of epidemiological character. Through fragments of ethnographic narratives, we aim to discuss the issue of “social margins” taking as the starting point a duality between sanitary and technical action, and mechanisms of social avoidance. Addressing the issue of tuberculosis control among the homeless means to evoke aspects of the sociability of this social group, its relationship with the institutions, and allows for the clarification of yet a different aspect of social suffering.
