REZENDE NETA, Dinah Sá et al. Evaluation of renal hypertensive by creatinine clearance in a health center in Teresina-pi, Brazil. []. , serIII, 6, pp.25-31. ISSN 0874-0283.  https://doi.org/10.12707/RIII1165.

Systemic arterial hypertension is a leading cause of chronic renal failure. Thus, this study aimed at assessing the renal function of patients with hypertension by means of creatinine clearance, starting with measurement of serum creatinine. The study had a quantitative approach, developed at Porto Alegre Health Center. Data collection was carried out in nursing consultations using serum creatinine measurements. After the calculation of creatinine clearance utilizing the Cockcroft-Gault equation, patients were classified in one of the six phases of chronic renal disorder. The results revealed that 74% of the sample had renal damage, which shows how important is the periodic assessment of renal function of patients with hypertension so that they can be monitored with regard to the progression of their chronic renal disorder.
