SILVA, Inês Rafaela Valente et al. The experiences of infertile women. []. , serIII, 8, pp.181-189. ISSN 0874-0283.  https://doi.org/10.12707/RIII11101.

According to Moreira and others (2006), infertile women are more vulnerable to stress, especially those who never had children, and are more likely to react to threatening situations. This study using the phenomenological approach, following Colaizzi and according to Carpenter et al. (2009), was aimed at understanding the experiences and impact of unsuccessful fertility treatments of infertile women who wanted children. We used qualitative methodology and a phenomenological approach. In the analysis of the interviews on the experiences of infertile women who wanted to have children there were several categories, including: the meaning of motherhood, the desire to have a child, meaning of fertility, consequences of infertility, difficulties and support networks. Understanding the world of these women faced with the phenomenon of infertility is essential, so that care practices are facilitative and protective in the face of the process of transition that these women undergo.
