^lpt^aAntónia Gertrudes Pusich (1805-1883) foi uma mulher de elevada cultura, tendo deixado escritos sobre diversos domínios e temáticas. Foi no campo do jornalismo que mais se distinguiu, sendo pioneira nestas funções. Colaborou em diversos jornais e fundou três periódicos, dos quais foi proprietária e diretora. Nestes escreveu sobre variados temas, expressando os seus pensamentos sem preconceitos e possibilitando a outras mulheres a expressão da sua voz. Neste artigo, pretendemos dar destaque ao seu carácter pioneiro, analisando as suas ideias, expressas nos textos publicados em A Assembléa Litteraria (1849-1851), sobre a ilustração dos portugueses e, em particular, das mulheres.^len^aAntónia Gertrudes Pusich (1805-1883) was a very literate woman, having published several texts on different domains and issues. She collaborated with several newspapers and founded three newspapers of which she was the owner and director,being a pioneer in these roles. In these newspapers she wrote on a variety of topics, expressing her thoughts without prejudice and enabling other women to express their voices. In this article, we intend to highlight Pusich’s pioneering character, analysing her ideas expressed in the texts published in A Assembléa Litteraria about the state of Portuguese education in general and, in particular, about the state of female education.
