^lpt^aSegundo a Estratégia para o desenvolvimento do Programa Nacional de Cuidados Paliativos (2010), existe a necessidade de realizar um inquérito à população portuguesa que possibilite um conhecimento sobre o que as pessoas pensam sobre a morte digna e quais as expetativas relativamente à própria morte. A presente investigação ajudou a colmatar esta necessidade através do estudo do conceito de Boa Morte na população portuguesa. A amostra de conveniência do estudo é composta por 205 participantes, dos quais 38 % são homens, com uma média de idades de 36,12 anos. Os resultados mostram que o conceito de boa morte relaciona-se com o Sexo, Idade, Estado Civil, Formação e Experiência com pacientes em fim de vida.^len^aAccording to the Strategy for the development of the National Palliative Care Program (2010) there is a need to conduct a survey to the Portuguese population that allows knowledge about what people think about dignified death and expectations regarding the death itself. This research has helped to fill this need by studying the concept of the Good Death in the Portuguese population. The convenience sample of the study has 205 participants, of which 38% are men with an average age of 36.12 years. The results show that the concept of good dead is related with Gender, Age, Marital Status, Training and Experience with patients at end-of-life.
