^lpt^aA perceção da qualidade de vida (QdV) e do suporte social (SS), e as relações com o nível de independência funcional nas atividades de vida diárias (AVD) e características sociodemográficas, foram avaliados em 60 utentes da RNCCI (domiciliários) no Algarve, através do Índice de Independência nas AVD, WHOQOL-Bref, Arizona Social Support Interview Schedule e questionário sociodemográfico. Mulheres muito idosas domiciliadas, parcialmente dependentes, percecionaram maior necessidade e satisfação no apoio emocional, com familiares, como fonte de apoio material. Observaram-se médias elevadas de perceção ambiental e baixas de QdV física. O WHOQOL-Bref apresentou boa fiabilidade. Correlacionaram-se positivamente, a satisfação no apoio emocional e QdV física e psicológica, e o total da rede no mesmo apoio e as relações sociais. Mulheres parcialmente dependentes percecionaram melhor QdV física. Ter cônjuge, correlacionou-se com melhor QdV ambiental, e maior necessidade de apoio material percebido. Correlacionaram-se positivamente níveis de independência com as dimensões do SS percebido com o ambiente, e negativamente com o físico e o psicológico da QdV. O envelhecimento e a dependência populacional são globais, nacionais e locais, daí a importância da divulgação deste estudo, como momento de reflexão, para uma perceção mais alargada e menos redutora do envelhecimento, dependência, qualidade e apoio social.^len^aThe perceived quality of life (QdV), social support (SS), and the relations with functional independence level on the daily activities (AVD) and on social-demographic features were evaluated in 60 users of the home-served RNCCI, in Algarve, through the Independence index of the AVD, WHOQOL-Bref, Arizona Social Support Interview Schedule and demographic questionnaire. Elder partially dependent domiciled women perceived greater need and satisfaction in emotional support, with family members, as a source of material support. High environmental perception low QdV averages were observed. WHOQOL-Bref presented good reliability. Emotional support and satisfaction, the physical and psychological QdV and the overall network were determined to be positively correlated, on the same support and social relationships. Partially dependent women perceived a better physical QdV. Have a spouse correlated better with the environmental QdV and with greater need of material support perceived. Independence levels correlated positively with the dimensions of the SS perceived with the environment, and negatively with the physical and the psychological of the QdV. Aging and population dependency are global, national and local, hence the importance of the dissemination of this study as a moment of ponderation towards a more holistic sense of such concepts associated to quality and social support.
