^lpt^aA Esquizofrenia é considerada pela OMS como uma das dez doenças mais incapacitantes. Sendo uma perturbação complexa e de caráter crónico, gera prejuízos significativos na vida dos pacientes, prejudicando a sua qualidade de vida. O suporte social é um fator de redução do impacto de perturbações mentais, como a esquizofrenia. Tendo por base uma metanálise crítica reflexiva, com o objetivo compreender a relação entre os fatores que atuam numa melhor qualidade de vida e suporte social nos indivíduos com esta patologia, recorreu-se às bases de dados PubMed e Scopus, atendendo a critérios de inclusão e exclusão. Os resultados indicaram 10 artigos que investigaram as variáveis qualidade de vida e/ou suporte social em pacientes com esquizofrenia. Além disso, foram identificados o suporte social e o funcionamento social como preditores de uma melhor qualidade de vida. Contudo, foram reduzidos os estudos que relacionassem diretamente estas duas variáveis estudadas, assim como fatores que melhorassem a qualidade de vida e/ou suporte social. São sugeridas implicações para a promoção da qualidade de vida e suporte social destes doentes bem como a necessidade de mais investigação na área.^len^aSchizophrenia is considered by WHO as one of the ten most disabling diseases. Being a complex and chronic disorder, it generates a significant damage on patients' lives, impairing their quality of life. Social support is a factor that reduces the impact of mental disorders such as schizophrenia. Based on a reflective critical meta-analysis, in order to further understanding the factors that act in a better quality of life and social support for patients with this disease, we used the PubMed and Scopus databases, considering the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results indicated 10 articles that have investigated the variables quality of life and / or social support in patients with schizophrenia. Moreover, we also identified, social support and social functioning as predictors of a better quality of life. However, few studies analyzed directly the relationship between these two variables, as well as factors that improve the quality of life and / or social support. Implications for the promotion of quality of life and social support of these patients are suggested, as well as the need for more research in the area.
