A pandemia da COVID-19 tem enternecido mundialmente, com efeitos sem precedentes, destampando uma realidade oculta: a vulnerabilidade psicológica dos trabalhadores de saúde arraigados na linha de frente. Logo, avaliou-se os efeitos da COVID-19 no estado psicológico dos trabalhadores de saúde e as ações para a redução desses danos. A pesquisa foi realizada através de uma revisão integrativa da literatura de abordagem qualitativa, nas bases de dados Literatura Latino-americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde - LILACS e Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online - MEDLINE pela BVS com os descritores “Infecções por coronavirus”, “Pessoal de Saúde” e “Saúde Mental” e na PubMed Central - PMC com os descritores “Coronavirus infections”, “Health personnel” e “Mental health” combinados pelo operador booleano “AND”. Foram incluídos documentos científicos com o texto completo disponível publicados no último ano (2019 a 2020) e excluídos os duplicados. Na busca inicial encontrou-se um total de 230 publicações e após a leitura e análise dos textos completos foram selecionados 24 documentos científicos como amostra final. Conforme os achados, o risco de contaminação como gerador de afastamento do trabalho, doença e morte, além de intenso sofrimento psíquico, que se expressa em transtorno de ansiedade, distúrbios do sono, medo de adoecer e de contaminar outros. Espera-se que esses elementos subsidiem orientações ao poder público e a sociedade, para que haja intervenções psicológicas imediatas sob o bem-estar do trabalhador durante a pandemia, e que após a mesma garantam-se acompanhamento e suporte emocional.

The COVID-19 pandemic has gone globally, with unprecedented effects, unraveling a hidden reality: the psychological vulnerability of health workers rooted in the front lines. Therefore, the effects of COVID-19 on the psychological status of health workers and actions to reduce these damages were evaluated. The research was carried out through an integrative review of the literature with a qualitative approach, in the databases Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences - LILACS and Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online - MEDLINE by the VHL with the descriptors “Infections by coronavirus ”,“ Health Personnel ”and“ Mental Health ”and PubMed Central - PMC with the descriptors“ Coronavirus infections ”,“ Health personnel ”and“ Mental health ”combined by the Boolean operator“ AND ”. Scientific documents with the full available text published in the last year (2019 to 2020) were included and duplicates were excluded. In the initial search, a total of 230 publications were found and after reading and analyzing the full texts, 24 scientific documents were selected as the final sample. According to the findings, the risk of contamination as a generator of absence from work, illness and death, in addition to intense psychological distress, which is expressed in anxiety disorder, sleep disorders, fear of becoming ill and contaminating others. It is hoped that these elements will provide guidance to public authorities and society, so that there are immediate psychological interventions under the worker's well-being during the pandemic, and that after it is ensured, emotional support and monitoring.
