ZANINI, Daniela; PAIS-RIBEIRO, José Luis    FERNANDES, Iorhana. Positive psychology and health: development and interventions. []. , 22, 1, pp.3-13.   30--2021. ISSN 1645-0086.  https://doi.org/10.15309/21psd220102.

Positive Psychology was born with a focus on well-being and elements that help individuals to develop in a healthy way. Seeking a positive mental health perspective, interventions within this field were developed with the objective of preventing and promoting health in individuals, thus attending to primary health care. However, with the development of the field, many studies were carried out with populations that presented some type of pathology. These studies demonstrated effectiveness in reducing negative symptoms related to pathologies, attending to secondary care. In this sense, this article sought to elucidate the relationship between positive psychology and health psychology, presenting interventions in positive psychology as beneficial and effective when applied in the context of health in both primary and secondary care. In this way, interventions in this field contribute to the integrative vision of the individual and health, promoting well-being and not only seeking to eliminate diseases and unwell.
