SOUZA, Cleverton de; FERREIRA, Lúcio; CATUZZO, Maria T.    CORREA, Umberto C.. The movement ABC test in children of different contexts . []. , 7, 1, pp.36-47. ISSN 1645-0523.

The aim of this study was to investigate the applicability of the Movement ABC Test (9), in children from different contexts. The focus was on the battery test for children aged band II (seven to eight years of age). The contexts were rural (near the river) an urban (north, south, east, west, center-south and center-west) regions of the city of Manaus, north of Brazil. Participated of the study 240 children of both sex, which performed the tests of manual, ball, and balance skills. Results were analyzed by Kruskal Wallis and Mann Whitney U test. They showed that the children from both contexts had similar performance in total scores as well as in specific parts of the battery (manual skills, ball skills and balance skills). Further comparisons among parts of the urban region with the parts of rural region yielded similar results, that is, children do not differ in their performance. Overall, there seems to be evidence that the movement ABC test is robust enough to be applicable in the evaluating of children from different contexts.
