The Knowledge Management (KM) implementation occurs in stages. It demands changes in the organization. The research goal is to develop a knowledge management maturity model. This research adopted the Life Cycle Theory principles. The research is qualitative with exploratory character. First, a proposal of knowledge management maturity model, named KM³, was developed based on existing models. Following that, the proposal was analyzed by professionals. The model stages and factors have been confirmed. The KM³ has five stages: Unawareness (2 factors), Planning (15 factors), Initiation (20 factors), Development (24 factors) and Integration (24 factors).
