FONSECA JR, Gelson    UZIEL, Eduardo. Hans Morgenthau, Politics among Nations and the United Nations. []. , 58, pp.69-82. ISSN 1645-9199.  https://doi.org/10.23906/ri2018.58a05.

The article considers the thinking of realist theorist of international relations, Hans Morgenthau, on the United Nations, from 1945 to 1965, through the various editions of his most important work, Politics among Nations. In the changes that he inserted in the text in its various versions, Morgenthau followed the evolution of that international organization, always criticizing the combination of idealism and Machiavellianism that, in his opinion, limited the ability of the United Nations to fulfil its function in the field of peace and security.

: Morgenthau; United Nations; realism; international organizations.
