MARCOS, Daniel    ALCARIO, Isabel. The invasion of Iraq, twenty years on: a growing tension in the international order. []. , 78, pp.33-45.   30--2023. ISSN 1645-9199.  https://doi.org/10.23906/ri2023.78a03.

The invasion of Iraq in 2003 and the military fatigue it represented for the United States implied a change in Us foreign policy, with an impact on relations with allies, on the definition of priorities and on the liberal international order. This change became evident during the Arab Spring, the interventions in Libya and Syria and during the Cri- mean crisis, and along with the increasing interventionism of other rising powers. This article aims to make a brief reflection on the concept of order, highlighting the main changes in the last twenty years, as a consequence of the 2003 Iraq crisis.

: War; international liberal order; Westphalian order; Middle East.
