AURICCHIO, José Ricardo et al. Anthropometric, hemodynamic and metabolic evaluation of the Brazilian Soccer Team of Amputees. []. , 14, 1, pp.289-293. ISSN 1646-107X.

Amputee football is a variation of socyte football with seven players being a goalkeeper with amputation of one upper limb and six line players with amputation of a lower limb, additionally, it is a new sport modality, however, still not be part of the Paralympic program. In this way there are few studies describing association of health status and anthropometric, hemodynamic and metabolic evaluation in this population. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate the anthropometric, hemodynamic and metabolic capacities of the amputees Brazilian soccer team and their relationship with health status. The BMI (23.37 kg/m2) characterized as eutrophic. The hemodynamic parameters such blood pressure (SBP: 130±2, DBP: 80±1, mmHg), heart rate (69±3 bpm) and blood oxygenation (97±0,2) were within the normal range. Interestingly, significant differences were observed in the pre-session glucose (92±12 mg/dl) and post-exercise session (102±18 mg/dl). No significant differences were observed between pre- (4,5±1.0 mmol/dl) and post (4.9±2.1 mmol/dl) -session. Our results suggest that the practitioners does not present cardiovascular risk factors and its practice of this sport may be beneficial for adults with physical disabilities.
