SASTRE, Luis Fernando Sánchez et al. Remote sensing technologies applied to forestry biomass studies. []. , 19, pp.61-76. ISSN 1646-9895.  https://doi.org/10.17013/risti.19.61-76.

This study aims to evaluate the initial conditions of the vegetation of a pre-Pyrinees forestry area, as well as to generate data for estimating biomass and hence uptaken carbon, at the beginning of the European project LIFE+ Operation CO2. In order to achieve this, remote sensing technologies such as LiDAR data processing, satellite images, close-range photogrammetry by using RPA (drones) were used. Besides, support fieldwork and simulations with a growth model were conducted. Results show the great utility of these technologies to obtain georeferred information, especially, in large and mountainous areas. In addition, reliability and validity of these methodologies were demonstrated and therefore they are suitable for monitoring and evaluating purposes in agroforestry activities.
