^lpt^aRose Lutzenberger (Porto Alegre, RS, 1929) é autora de uma escultura de referência do acervo da Pinacoteca Barão de Santo Ângelo (PBSA/UFRGS). Nesse ensaio faremos uma breve análise da sua atuação como artista importante na introdução daabstração geométrica na produção visual do Rio Grande do Sul. Analisaremos seu processo artístico enquanto escultora e gravadora, cujos resultados podem ser sintetizados pela escultura em questão: um trabalho que é resultante de excepcionais operações com materiais industriais que, ao eliminar todo e qualquer vestígio de manualidade, normalmente associada às artes plásticas, coloca-a plenamente integrada à linguagem da abstração geométrica nacional e internacional.^len^aRose Lutzenberger (Porto Alegre, RS, 1929) is the author of a reference sculpture from the Barão de Santo Ângelo Pinacoteca collection (PBSA / UFRGS). In this essay we will briefly analyze her performance as a important artist in the introduction of geometric abstraction in the visual production of Rio Grande do Sul. We will analyze her artistic process as a sculptor and engraver, whose results can be synthesized by the sculpture in question: awork that is resulting from exceptional operations with industrial materials which, by eliminating any trace of craftsmanship, usually associated with the plastic arts, places it fully integrated in the language of national and international geometric abstraction.
