This reflection on the sculpture fragment of João Castro Silva, contemporary sculptor and professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon, aims to analyze the processes of conception and execution used by the sculptor. In his sculpture are explicit the attitude on the representation of the human body and in the choice of materials used. We investigate in this approach new ways of conceiving and doing in which the fragment marks the sculpture of contemporaneity.
