^lpt^aA hipótese de que a influência da vertente nutricional no processo de envelhecimento pudesse ser relevante como forma de fomentar a qualidade de vida e aumentar a saúde e longevidade da população captou o nosso interesse. Considerando o crescimento exponencial da nutrição anti-envelhecimento e as evidências científicas que suportam o conceito, achamos pertinente a revisão deste tema. Sintetizamos as linhas condutoras do anti-envelhecimento, particularmente da área nutricional, assim como as noções implícitas ao processo de envelhecimento. Tem-se verificado um crescente interesse na nutrição anti-envelhecimento e, consequentemente, um aumento de evidências científicas. Dessa forma, uma abordagem anti-envelhecimento deve ser integrada nos cuidados de saúde preventivos, nomeadamente a nível da educação nutricional.^len^aThe hypothesis that the influence of the nutritional component in the aging process could be relevant as a way to enhance the quality of life and increase health and longevity of the population caught our interest. Considering the exponential growth of anti-aging nutrition and scientific evidence supporting this concept, we review the relevant bibliography. We synthesized the guidelines of the anti-aging, particularly the nutritional points, as well as the notions implicit on aging process. There has been a growing interest in anti-aging nutrition and consequently an increase in scientific evidences. Thus, anti-aging approach should be integrated in preventive health care, including the nutritional education.
