SOUSA, Fernando    MONTEIRO, Ileana. Organizational innovation: the effectiveness of the Creative Problem Solving Method. []. , 9, 3, pp.38-49. ISSN 1645-4464.

This study aims at demonstrating the effectiveness of the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) method in the improvement of the preferences towards divergent thinking and in group commitment, as well as in knowledge management. Each CPS team, in a first group of seven companies (48 participants), and in a second group of three (41), was submitted to a pre-post test in preferences towards divergent thinking and, only in the second group, to a group commitment test. Facts recorded during the sessions were categorized and submitted to a factorial analysis of correspondence. Results indicate a change favourable to divergent thinking, and an increase in group commitment. Also, fact analysis showed that companies have different orientations as to innovation, according to its situation. The generalization of these findings at organizational level will contribute to the development of effective organizational innovation systems.
