BORGES, Flávia Maciel Viana; SANTOS, Jaqueline Arrais dos    OGLIARI, Karina Brito da Costa. PATIENT SAFETY IN TREATMENT WITH ANTINEOPLASTICS. []. , 46, e066.   01--2023. ISSN 1646-7868.  https://doi.org/10.31877/on.2023.46.01.

Objective:

To identify actions that promote patient safety undergoing chemotherapy.

Method:

This is an integrative review, with articles published between 2017 and 2022. It was used as a guiding question: Are there flaws that compromise patient safety in chemotherapy treatment? The searches were carried out in the following databases: BDENF; LILACS; MEDLINE; SCIELO; PUBMED, through the Descriptors in Health Sciences (DeCS): antineoplastics AND patient safety. Results: 25 articles were found, 3 excluded due to duplicity and 13 for not meeting the criteria. 9 were selected for reading the abstract and 6 for reading in full, with a final sample of 5 articles.

Final considerations:

Difficulties faced by managers and the nursing team involved in direct care were evidenced. However there is the possibility of improving patient safety with humanized care, trained and attentive employees, existence of care and biosafety protocols and continuing education of professionals.

: Medication administration; antineoplastics; cancer care; nursing..
