CIOBANU, Alexandru; PITA, Joana; LOUREIRO, Carlos e TODO-BOM, Ana. Angioedema induced by angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors - clinical cases. Rev Port Imunoalergologia [online]. 2017, vol.25, n.2, pp.127-131. ISSN 0871-9721.
Angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEI) are often prescribed in clinical practice to control blood pressure in myocardial infarct, heart failure, and chronic renal disease. They can induce angioedema (AE) in 0.1 to 0.68% of patients. The angiotensin receptor blockers (ARB) can cause AE, although on a lower percentage. When the diagnosis of AE induced by ACE inhibitors is established, the avoidance of ACEI is mandatory. The authors describe two cases of angioedema induced by ACE inhibitors/ARB
