VENTURA, Margarida e ARAUJO, Suely. COVID-19 - Um estudo comparativo entre o comportamento dos estudantes universitários e dos profissionais de saúde no início da pandemia. RILP [online]. 2022, vol.41, pp.101-123. Epub 30-Ago-2022. ISSN 2182-4452. https://doi.org/10.31492/2184-2043.rilp2022.41/pp.101-123.
An event such as the Covid-19 pandemic causes psychological and social disruptions which affect the coping capacity of the whole society at various levels of intensity and spread. How we respond to a pandemic may depend on our upbringing, life history, particular characteristics, and where we live. In this sense, a study was conducted with two groups - one of university students composed of 100 subjects and one of health professionals, composed of the same number - in order to assess their behavior and feelings during the mandatory confinement caused by the pandemic of Covid-19. It was found that the two groups behave quite differently in almost all variables whether behavioral or related to feelings, and it was found that the college students feel differently than the health personnel, the latter group showing more negative feelings than the students. Professionals directly exposed to the risks of contamination, especially those who work in hospitals and health clinics, may manifest negative psychological effects, which explains the differences found between the two groups.
