Millennium - Journal of Education, Technologies and Health, publishes its number 12. Multidisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity are the main characteristics in the research papers that make up this publication, in the areas of Engineering, Technology, Management and Tourism, Education and Social Development, Sciences of Life and Health and Agricultural, Food and Veterinary Sciences.
The Engineering, Technology, Management and Tourism section integrates the articles “Study and analysis of a new device for the rehabilitation of the tibiotarsal joint” explores the potential of a mechatronic device, the Therapheet, in the rehabilitation of the tibiotarsal joint; “Teaching qualitative method: review study”, in which, through a bibliographic review, shows that the teaching of the qualitative method is not yet consolidated, proposing a constructivist model to enhance educational objectives.
In the Education and Social Development section, we find the following papers: “Doctoral students on their pathway towards multi- and interdisciplinary research” that seeks to describe the joint learning processes of doctoral students, during their journey of exploring multi and interdisciplinary research. The study developed, based on multivariate sources, highlights the potential of multi and interdisciplinary programs for promoting collaborative learning and participatory and systemic systems of critical learning; “Transition to grandfatherthood: the development of the role of the grandfather”, which develops a qualitative study to describe the transition process to grandparenting of men (as grandfathers) and to characterize the performance of man as a grandfather in family health, showing this figure as a focus for the work of health professionals; and the article “Active learning in higher education: pedagogical strategies for collaborative work”, where cooperative learning strategies, developed in groups, applied in higher education courses in the areas of social sciences and educational sciences, are presented as mechanisms for improving student learning.
The Life and Health Sciences section includes the investigations: “Pattern of consumption of psychoactive substances in alternative transport drivers”, in which, through a descriptive study, it is sought to identify these consumption patterns in a sample of 40 drivers, from the State of Amapá, Brazil, and to instigate the development of health education actions in this population; “Sociodemographic profile of depression in the elderly in Brazil: integrative review”, which demonstrates the need for more qualified and humanized care by health teams to reduce the rates of mental disorders in the elderly; “Signs and meaning of religiosity for the elderly family caregiver”, a study that, based on the theory of symbolic interactionism, demonstrates religiosity and spirituality as support mechanisms for family caregivers in daily difficulties.
The Agricultural, Food and Veterinary Sciences section includes the article “Evaluation of passive immunity transfer failure (FTIP) in meat calves: two clinical cases”, where these clinical cases compatible with FTIP are analyzed, as well as their biochemical analysis, according to the plasma transfusion procedure. This study concludes that, although this procedure can be an effective treatment in these cases, it will need to be monitored, in addition it should be assisted by assessing the donor's immune status before the plasma collection and transfusion.
