Based on interviews with women with spouses or partners living with children, the aim of this research is to identify the specific ways in which they establish personal autonomy within the life of the couple. This article suggests that conjugality is made up as much of feelings as of routines, and puts forward the hypothesis that there is a connection between love orientations and female autonomy. Several linkages between feelings and the expression of individual autonomy are described.
