Abstract

ZUQUETE, José Pedro. Is anarchy coming back?. Anál. Social [online]. 2016, n.221, pp.966-989. ISSN 0003-2573.

As a political vision and an alternative social order, anarchy has seen a sharp come-back since the end of the 20th century, through the thoughts and practices of social movements responding to globalization pressures. This article examines the panorama of contemporary anarchy - first its many manifestations in popular protests and “occupations”, and second - the main focus of the study - the fascination in philosophy and acts of anarchy pertaining to “insurrection”, the influence of which is seen in mass public protests against seated powers and in clandestine “international dark activism”.

Keywords : anarchy; occupations; utopia; insurrection.
