Abstract

TEIXEIRA DE BARROS, Antonio  and  TEIXEIRA SANTOS, Thais. Informative accountablity and digital interaction in the parliaments of Portuguese-speaking countries. Anál. Social [online]. 2017, n.223, pp.360-391. ISSN 0003-2573.

We analyze the digital instruments of information and political interaction of the parliaments of the eight Portuguese-speaking countries. The websites of legislative bodies were monitored in order to record their information mechanisms, and forms of addressing and listening to the public. Results indicate greater efforts to provide information and to improve citizen participation via emails. The greatest failures of websites are the lack of interactivity, citizen participation, and search methods available to the public.

Keywords : accountability; Portuguese language parliaments; legal websites.
