Abstract

SILVESTRE, José  and  EIRAS-DIAS, José E.. Allometric relationship between leaf area and length measurements of Vitis vinifera L. leaves. . Ciência Téc. Vitiv. [online]. 2001, vol.16, n.1, pp.35-42. ISSN 0254-0223.

The use of different parameters of the leaves in order to estimate the leaf area was evaluated for 12 cultivars with regressions on the least rectangles method, according to a linear model (Y =a + bX) and to a power function (Y = aXc). The results, evaluated by the coefficients of determination, standard error of estimate and the distribution of the reduced residuals showed a more adequate estimation on account of the use of the power function. Enabling, thus, the selection of two parameters with a higher than 95% coefficient of determination for the whole of the 12 cultivars.

Keywords : leaf area; biometry.
