Abstract

MELLO-THERY, Neli Aparecida de. Environment, development and public biodiversity policies (Brazil). Finisterra [online]. 2018, n.109, pp.133-148. ISSN 0430-5027.  https://doi.org/10.18055/Finis15363.

The focus on the continuity of public policies, which, independent of the current government, have contributed to and contribute to consolidating a particular model of national development. We analyze the current patterns, the changes of paradigms in the public policies based on innovations resulting from the material bases of the territory. We have broadened the horizon to analyze positive experiences regarding biodiversity in the country and the actions implemented, uninterruptedly, in the national scenario as a result of ratified international commitments. However, the current political crisis points to scenarios that are unfavorable to this continuity.

Keywords : Development model; public policies; biodiversity; Brazil.
