Resumen

ALCOTA, Pablo. Places of COVID -19 in the context of socio-spatial conflicts for dignity in Chile. Finisterra [online]. 2020, n.115, pp.89-96.  Epub 31-Dic-2020. ISSN 0430-5027.  https://doi.org/10.18055/finis20309.

The objective of the manuscript is to reflect on the construction of COVID-19 places in the context of socio-spatial conflicts for dignity in Chile. On October 18, 2019, a conflict exploded in the country, challenging forms of national governance naturalized for decades. The recognition of the human quality and well-being for a dignified life, such as intergenerational solidarity, guaranteeing rights, such as public health quality, gender equality, living free of contamination, set the agenda for massive mobilizations and protests. When non-places began to transform into places, the crisis in health policy emerged surrounding COVID-19, which demonstrates the scope of the immense inequalities in the country, and the imperative challenge of promoting multidisciplinary work, which, in turn, strengthens links between the university and civil society, to face this disaster of the 21st century.

Palabras clave : COVID-19; place; politics; well-being; disasters.
