Abstract

BARATA-SALGUEIRO, Teresa. Living in the city under the COVID-19 pandemic. Finisterra [online]. 2020, n.115, pp.113-119.  Epub Dec 31, 2020. ISSN 0430-5027.  https://doi.org/10.18055/finis20375.

After a few brief references to the challenge for collective action brought about by COVID-19 which also reveals the progressive disinvestment of States in public services, the issue of inequalities in the face of the disease is addressed. Then, we reflect on three aspects of change verified in city life during the lockdown: (i) the extension of the functions performed by homes, (ii) changes in consumption behaviour; and (iii) the revaluation of proximity.

Keywords : Target groups; housing functions; consumption; convenience.
