This paper aims to reflect on drawing and Rui Chafes text Between Heaven and Earth. In its contemplative analysis, this paper searches for the image that gives form to what is between heaven and earth: the medium. Engendering the invisible - sky-space and earth-space - and the visible - the inner-life and outer-life. In the first instance, I have examined areas of opacity and transparency as aspects of a reversible process and in the second, I have conceived the visibility of a body, inside-outside, that documents an image: the drawing - as a discipline, exercise and sketch of a language in art. Walter Benjamin and Gaston Bachelard support and uphold the aim of weaving the bond between the work-creator and drawing. Between Heaven and Earth, in its entanglement with the world, is the dwelling place of a explorative will which, when inscribed, belongs to the man who investigates. Rui Chafes text reveals to us the image that we are looking for: the drawing.
