Abstract

LEAL, Audria  and  CALDES, Ana. Textualization and textual construction mechanisms: towards a sociodiscoursive approach of cartoons. Diacrítica [online]. 2013, vol.27, n.1, pp.175-194. ISSN 0807-8967.

As they result from human activity, texts have in their own organisation some parameters which depend both on the situational context and on the structure and rules of the linguistic system. Those parameters are also dependent on the decisions taken by the author of the texts, among which we have to consider the choice of the text genre and, therefore, of its internal architecture. Bearing this in mind, Bronckart (1999) developed a model of text analysis aiming at explaining the psychological operations which underpin textual production. In this paper, we are trying to show, through the analysis of the text genre cartoon, how the mechanisms of textualization work towards textual construction. To do so, and first, we will present the theoretical assumptions which are the core of our analysis. Second, we will examine a cartoon, trying to think about the relationship between the text plan and the cohesion and connection processes.

Keywords : text genre; text plan; cohesion and connection mechanisms.
