The paper aims at localizing the specificity of micronouvelles within the field of short short stories as well as the specificity of the nouvelles en trois lignes within the field of micronouvelles. It studies their external properties (born in the Belle Époque, reborn in a context of thought and sensibility centered on the notion of small and technological innovations); and their internal properties (shortness, narritivity, intertextuality). The specificity of micronouvelles is located at the level of genological changes and we discuss their connection with the short story and the nouvelle. We focus then on the nouvelles en trois lignes, which is the first form of micronouvelle. The nouvelles en trois lignes rewrite faits divers and keep a number of their structural properties such as narrativity, referentiality and the urban which major form of presence is shock.
