The aim of this paper is to present the impacts caused by Portuguese April 25th 1974 on the cultural and political field of Galicia, analyzing the actions, discourses and relationships of those groups occupying the most central position in Galician Cultural System (GCS), immediately before 1974. Our point of departure are the results of a research project developed by Galabra Group (Universidade de Santiago de Compostela [USC]), focused on examining the processes of development and socialization of ideas in Galicia during the 1970’s, which are supplemented in this case with a survey in the Galician press of the time. Our approach highlights that this is the time when Galician-Portuguese relationship parameters and alliance (nowadays invigorating) are constructed, particularly in the field of the political left-wing.
