This study develops a reflection on the idea of Death: from the perspective of the end and dissolution, coupled with anxiety and fear, to a view of an entry in another space, of absolute peace or redemption, reaching the absolute, several myths associated with the idea of death will be approached, here, and how man has structured his thought and his relation to the mystery of his own disappearance. From the Greeks to the contemporary era, the evolution of society and the awareness of man imply a mental structuring of Death due to the individuality and body change, that carries, from birth, a "be-to-death". We will address, too, how the act of giving Death "to himself", seeking freedom, reflects an attitude that questions the society.
