Abstract

SA, Jorge Rosas Godoy de. (Poetic) Action in Huidobro. Diacrítica [online]. 2014, vol.28, n.3, pp.251-273. ISSN 0807-8967.

Huidobro was a transgressor of social and cultural barriers who subverted the national historical epoch and its aesthetics. The foundation of Acción. Diario de Purificación Nacional marked his cultural and socio-political appearance in the 1925 Chilean Avant-Garde. However, he had anticipated this scenario with the atmosphere of this period already present in his poetry, without separating modernity from global human misery and, thus, striving for the socio-cultural regeneration through Art. This article will attempt to unravel this context through a brief review of his poetry on the basis of Literary History, taking as guideline - instead of Creacionismo - the broader concept of Hispano-American Avant-Garde, which may better grasp his aesthetic and cultural performance.

Keywords : Chilean Avant-Garde 1925; poetry; action; regeneration.
