Abstract

MONTEAGUDO, Henrique. Scripto-linguistic variation and comparative stratigraphy of a and b: contributions to the manuscript proto- tradition of the galician-portuguese cancioneiros. Diacrítica [online]. 2015, vol.29, n.1, pp.472-497. ISSN 0807-8967.

In this contribution a number of scriptolinguistic variables registered in the Cancioneiro da Ajuda (A 1 - A 110) and the Cancioneiro da Biblioteca Nacional (B 37 - B 223) are considered: oer / ouver and nullo / nulho in B; vus (instead of vós) and (con)vusco / (con)vosco in A; cuitar-cuita / coitar-coita in both, A and B. In all these cases, the anomalous variants are concentrated in the initial sector of each of the cancioneiros. Based on the results obtained and observations already developed in other studies (Ramos 2008), we review the hypothesis formulated by Oliveira (1994), according to which at the beginning of the process of constitution of the manuscript tradition there was a Cancioneiro dos cavaleiros. Our results allow to postulate the existence of a previous Cancioneiro primitivo that contained compositions of Fernan Rodriguez de Calheiros, Vasco Fernandez de Praga, Johan Soarez Somesso, Pay Soarez de Taveiros and Martin Soarez.

Keywords : Galician-Portuguese; troubadour lyric; scripto-linguistic variation; manuscript tradition; cancioneiro dos cavaleiros.
