^lpt^aEste artigo tem por objetivo estudar as sequências textuais argumentativas no gênero de discurso "comentário do leitor", publicado diariamente no jornal Folha de São Paulo na secção Painel do Leitor. Fundamentamos nossas análises sobre os aspectos teóricos da Análise Textual dos Discursos (ATD), em especial, os estudos realizados por Jean-Michel Adam acerca das sequências argumentativas em seu princípio dialógico. Visamos a considerar este princípio não só no plano textual de cada amostra selecionada, mas, mormente, na situação de comunicação que a instância jornalística instaura ao dispor, no jornal, três comentários de leitores sobre o mesmo tema. Consideramos que essa estratégia tem por escopo instaurar um debate mais amplo atinente à questão da polarização partidária e da divisão do país decorrente do cenário político instaurado.^len^aThis article aims to study the textual argumentative sequences in the genre ‘reader comments discourse', published daily in the newspaper Folha de São Paulo in the Letters addressed to the Editor section. We base our analysis on the theoretical aspects of Textual Analysis of Discourses (TAD), in particular, studies by Jean-Michel Adam about argumentative sequences in view of the dialogic principle. We intend to consider within this principle not only the textual plan for each selected sample, but, especially the situation of communication that the journalistic instance render available, in the newspaper via, three comments from readers on the sameis topic. We believe that this strategy has the purpose to establish a broader debate regardings the issue of partisan polarization and division of the country as a consequence, of the political scene established.
