Resumen
MESQUITA, Carlos. Inspection and testing methodologies for assessment of the conservation status of the structures affected by corrosion of reinforcement. Corros. Prot. Mater. [online]. 2012, vol.31, n.2, pp.39-48. ISSN 2182-6587.
It describes the most common diagnostic tools that allow evaluating, through non-destructive tests “in-situ”, the conservation status of reinforced concrete structures affected by reinforcement corrosion. Can be used at any stage of the structure cycle life, whether in the context of a pro-active maintenance/conservation or in the context of a reactive policy. The nature and importance of reinforcement corrosion can be evaluated simply, as first approach, through the 3 parameters only: the rebar’s cover, the carbonation’s depth in the concrete and the chloride contents of concrete from different depths. The survey of anomalies is another complementary tool to assess the importance and the extent of the areas affected by reinforcement corrosion. It presents a study of diagnosis a secondary school where, strangely, only part of the reinforced concrete structure found it severely affected by reinforcement corrosion. With the aim of diagnostic of the deterioration differentiated and therefore the definition of appropriate corrective action, was carried out a series of non-destructive tests or low intrusive.
