Abstract

FONSECA, I.; PROENCA, L.  and  CAPELO, S.. Cyclic voltammetry and unidirectional linear voltammerty: potentialities in the study of corrosion processes. Corros. Prot. Mater. [online]. 2015, vol.34, n.1, pp.12-21. ISSN 2182-6587.

This paper presents the electrochemical techniques, named cyclic voltammetry (CV) and linear sweep voltammetry (LSV), powerful and useful techniques for the evaluation of the behavior of metals and metallic alloys, when submitted to aggressive environments. The potentialities of the techniques are presented. The advantages brought by digital instrumentation are also emphasized. The paper is addressed to engineers, technicians and others, working on the area of corrosion. The type of information that can be obtained is exemplified with data from studies performed by the authors.

Keywords : Cyclic Voltammetry (CV); Linear Sweep Voltammetry (LSV); Digital Instrumentation.
