This paper presents preliminary research results relating to the integration of a 3D forest landscape visualiser within a decision support system in natural resources management. It focus primarily on inventory and spatial data processing, to be used by a simulator and prescription writer for forest ecosystems. The data transformation path is followed up to the management models. It is also discussed the numerical data conversion process proceeding from these models and its geographic pre-processing so that it may be used as input to the 3D visualiser. The system is demonstrated by applying it to a forest area of 460 ha located in the mountain range Serra da Lousã in central Portugal.
