Abstract

MACHADO, José Saporiti. Solid Wood Products for Construction: Quality Challenges. Silva Lus. [online]. 2004, vol.12, n.2, pp.203-212. ISSN 0870-6352.

The challenge of wood quality is being stressed throughout the construction industry due to the outcome of recent European standardisation meetings.  The result of this has been support for the implementation of a Construction Products Directive, and growing expectations by the end user towards the performance of construction elements. This work intends to discuss the challenges of the new initiative on the application of solid wood products in construction, as well as indicating possible actions to undertake in order to stimulate its sustainable use.

Keywords : quality; solid wood; construction; end user.
