To evaluate the dimensions speed and precision of the cognitive style of the sportsmen has been used the test Matching Familiar Figures, assigning to the fellows four groups: Rapids-Exact; Rapids-Inexact; Slow-Exact; Slow-Inexact, in function of the punctuations obtained in this test. As Dependent variable the decision was selected of ascending to the net in tennis and its possible success or failure, being observed the behaviors of decision in natural situations of official competition of tennis. The results showed that those subject with higher punctuations in cognitive speed, so much exact as inexact, they made the decision of ascending to the net with more frequency that the slow fellows in the prosecution of the information. Nevertheless, not significant differences were find among the groups in the success or in the failure, derived of the decision.
