ISSN 0870-8231.
This paper is based on a study of the role of social interactions between mentally disabled children, with light or moderate mental disabilities. The aim of this study was to understand the dynamics that characterise the interaction between these children and in order to do so the children were asked to solve two problems individually (control group) or in pairs (experimental group). The analysis of the results shows that, in both tasks, the children who worked in interaction (experimental group) presented more cognitive benefits and higher learning in the post-test situation than those who worked individually.
