In current days sexuality still remains a controversial and a "hard to approach" issue, specially when related to unhealthy individuals like oncological patients. These patients expect to be given information and enlightenment from health professionals about their sexual problems. The aim of this study is to describe the attitudes, beliefs and behaviour intentions of Portuguese health professionals towards oncological patient’s sexuality. A sample with 46 nurses and medical doctors gave answers to a questionnaire with 28 items and three open questions about sexuality in oncological patients. The results analysis shows that the health professionals present favourable attitudes and beliefs towards these patient’s sexuality and neutral behaviour intentions towards the same object at study.
