The interest for studying organizational factors that aim to understand the strength and stability of the individual’s attachment to the organization is based on the assumption of the existence is an association of these factors to the variables considered important to organizational efficiency and productivity. Employees creat a conviction related to the behavior of the organization towards them. In a social perspective of the exchange, employees who perceive a high level of organizational support may feel an obligation “to reward” the organization. This research centers in the perceived organizational support of nurses, and it analyses the relation ship between demographic and professional variables and this perception. The sample consists of 1027 nurses working in three hospital units, in the governance public sector. The perceived organizational support is in average 2.82±.66 (in a 5 point scale). Different levels of perceived organizational support were identified in the three hospitals. The older nurses who have been longer in the profession and in the institution disclose better perceived organziacional support. Females nurses perceive better organizational support than male nurses., No statistically significant difference was found, among the professional categories.
