This paper reflects the contributions of Carla Machado as a researcher in three different areas of Psychology and Law in Portugal: Psychology of Deviant Behaviour, Criminology/Victimology and Forensic Psychology. In this sense, attention is given to her seminal work in fundamental issues such as insecurity and fear of crime, intimate partnership violence and forensic psychological evaluation, among others.
