The increase of competitiveness among companies derived from the fast technological changes and product life cycle reduction, associated to the challenge to satisfy each time more demanding costumers needs, leads to a strong companies beat in the Innovation and differentiation of the products to be introduced in the market. It is the goal of this work to incorporate the designers and engineers capacities, to together associate CAD 3D modeling and Rapid Prototyping technologies in the development process of new utilitarian and decorative pewter products, and simultaneously sensitize the enterprise community for the advantages derived from the common use of these actual technologies. With this project it was possible to conjugate rapid prototyping technologies and traditional manufacturing processes for pewter components and the incorporation of other components in composite materials and other metallic alloys, allowing the development of innovative products in short periods of time.
