We describe the overall process of electrochemical deposition (ECD), introducing the relevant physical and chemical phenomena and their fundamental models that enable us to relate quantitatively the main variables, making a synthesis that will serve as a starting point for future developments and enable from a practical point of view, a more effective control of this important industrial process.
